Drawn by hand, layer by layer

Olivera Deflorin Blumen commissioned SHIBULERU to build a florist brand from a blank page. After a wide-lens study, from the Kunsthaus Zürich to flowers in music and graphic design, the studio worked in pencil and ink on vellum, sheet over sheet, until each curve held its weight. The client wanted a mark drawn by a human hand, not a prompt, and watched it become itself across the paper.

Identity System

The commission covered the full identity system and its first applications, from stationery to large-format window prints, flower paper wrap, and the van livery. The store interior followed as a second commission.

Symbol

A reduced Chrysanthemum, a wordmark grown from its leaf.

The symbol is a graphically reduced Chrysanthemum. From one of its leaves the studio drew the wordmark, letters seated inside petal shapes, then reassembled the two into a logomark that carries across every medium. Rotis sets the written voice. The palette is natural and playful, with the surprising contrast you find in real flowers. By the time the drawings moved to the screen, most of the design was already decided. The 2D draft was the shortest part of the commission, a clean transcription of work that had already been resolved by hand.

Bouquet

The bouquet, the moment the brand became itself.

An asset the studio had not planned for became the essence of the work. The act of giving, a bouquet handed over, resonated with everyone in the room. It reframed the brand’s reason for being: to enrich lives with the beauty of flowers. The bouquet, held in hand, entered the system as a primary asset and later carried the identity across window prints, paper wrap, and the van.
